Marlborough (AP) -- The late Eunice Kennedy Shriver is being honored by Special Olympics Massachusetts as the group cuts the ribbon on a new Marlborough headquarters.
The Yawkey Sports Training Center is slated to officially open Tuesday with Special Olympics athletes set to unveil a portrait of Shriver.
The new 25,000-square-foot center has a full-size gym, soccer field and computer training facilities.
Shriver was founder of the Special Olympics and had long been active in humanitarian causes. She also was one of the sisters to the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Shriver died in August after suffering a series of strokes.
