Galluccio charged with leaving the scene of an accident

Medford (WBZ Newsroom) -- A state lawmaker charged with leaving the scene of a car crash that left one person with minor injuries says he plans to focus on personal issues in his life.

State senator Anthony Galluccio spoke after a brief appearance on charges connected to the October 4th accident in Cambridge.

Galluccio didn't comment on the case but he has previously said he made a "serious error in judgment" when he drove away after his SUV rear-ended another vehicle.

About 13-hours prior to the accident Cambridge police gave the democrat a ride home because he was allegedly too drunk to drive.

A handful of protesters stood outside Medford district court Friday morning holding signs urging no "special favors" or "free passes" for Galluccio. He's due back in court next month.
