Today, as planned, Mayor Menino was discharged from Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is currently a patient at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital where he will begin physical therapy on his left knee. He is expected to stay at Spaulding for a few days until he is released to his home to continue with in-house physical therapy.
The Mayor is doing very well, according to Dr. Thomas Thornhill, his Orthopedic Surgeon, “He is right on schedule with his recovery. For the next several weeks, he will need to be on crutches as he continues his rehabilitation.”
The Mayor appreciates the tremendous outpouring of support and well wishes he has received and looks forward to getting back out to the neighborhoods soon.
