East Bridgewater (WBZ Newsroom) -- The center of East Bridgewater was shut down briefly after a bank robber left a suspicious package at the East Bridgewater Savings Bank.
Police say a white man with tape on his nose walked into the bank on Bedford Street at around 10 a.m. Tuesday and left a white shopping bag on the teller's counter before he ran off.
All the bank employees were evacuated and area schools were notified.
The State Police bomb squad sent a robot and an officer in a special explosives suit into the building to investigate.
Nothing was found inside the bag.
Traffic had been detoured off of route 18 in that area.
