Morgantown, WV (AP) -- Authorities say a teacher caught in West Virginia with a 15-year-old boy from her Holyoke, Mass., school has agreed to return to Massachusetts.
State Police Sgt. C.E. Porter says 24-year-old Lisa Lavoie waived an extradition hearing Wednesday, agreeing to face a charge of enticing a child under 16 in Massachusetts. Police there now have up to 10 days to take her into custody.
In West Virginia, Lavoie was charged with kidnapping after police found her at a Morgantown motel.
Porter says the boy was driven halfway home Tuesday night and turned over to Massachusetts authorities.
The boy's mother had contacted Maurice Donahue Elementary School in Holyoke on Feb. 13, saying she was concerned about the relationship. The teen was reported missing Feb. 16.
The boy's parents went to school officials to express concern about the relationship.
