Adam Riegel, Walpole H.S.
Adam Riegel is a senior at Walpole H.S. where he co-captained the football team.
The 18-year old and his teammates returned to Foxboro this fall to play in the Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium where it wasn't thrill of victory that spurred them on but rather the agony of defeat.
Michael McCarthy, Martha's Vineyard Regional H.S.
Michael McCarthy plays football for Martha's Vineyard Regional H.S. and why not?
The 18-year old carries on a family tradition for Martha's Vineyard where the football field is named after Mike's grandfather.
Jamie Ledin, West Bridgewater H.S.
Jamie Ledin plays soccer for West Bridgewater High School.
The 17-year old has been playing soccer for as long as she can remember which can also be said for her sister because at West Bridgewater H.S. the lead-in for Ledin is Ledin.
Corley Stone, Wellesley H.S.
Corley Stone is a senior at Wellesley High School where she excels on several athletic fields.
But the 18-year old's accomplishments are not restricted to athletics which have taken her from Wellesley High to the Boston Garden.  You could say Corley is an avid 'reeder'.
Nick Nowak, Medfield H.S.

The 17-year old sweeper has accumulated just about every award possible in the Tri-Valley League including consecutive league MVP awards.

The 18-year old had a goal at the beginning of the year. Then another. And another. And another....
Erin Phinney, Chelmsford High School
Erin Phinney needed to make a choice as a freshman; which sport to concentrate on at Chelmsford High School. Her choices were between field hockey, softball and swimming.
The decision that Erin made did not leave her a fish out of water. But it left Chelmsford's opponents in her wake.
Matt Grimard, Dracut High School
Matt Grimard is the quarterback of the Dracut High School football team.
The senior  has led Dracut to a 9-1 record this year and although Matt has accounted for 42 of Dracut's touchdowns this year, he is the first to bestow kudos to his teammates.
Duy Truong, Doherty H.S.
Duy Truong is a sophomore at Doherty High School where he enjoys football and track. Duy didn't always enjoy his time at Doherty; in fact, his lack of time at the school resulted in a repeat of freshman year and no spot on the football team.
But the 16-year old discovered one of life's secrets early in life to begin anew.
Max Campion, Beaver Country Day
Max Campion is a golfer. The 18-year old senior at Beaver Country Day has had a golf club in his hands since he was 5 years old.

Sean Stewart, Salem (NH) High School

Josh Salah, Gloucester High School
Josh Salah is a senior at Gloucester High School where he captains several sports; football, hockey and golf.
The 17-year old particularly likes golf, which he practices year round, even during football and hockey seasons. The practice has paid off.
Drew Allain, St. Peter-Marian H.S.
Drew Allain is a senior at St. Peter-Marian high school in Worcester. Drew captains both cross-country and ice hockey for the Guardians.
But his best work may have come in the classroom. Every single classroom at SPM.
Caroline Johnson, Boston Latin H.S.
Caroline Johnson is a senior at Boston Latin High School and a member of the only high school crew team.
The 18-year old and her crew teammates hit the Charles River to partake in the Head of the Charles Regatta. How did the co-captain and her mates do?
Brett Conrad, Nauset H.S.
Brett Conrad is a senior at Nauset High School where he is an All-Scholastic in two sports.
At 6'7", you might guess that Brett excels in basketball and you would be correct. As for his 'other' sport? He gets a real kick out of holding the fort for his teammates.
Rachel Siegel, Nantucket H.S.
Rachel Siegel is a senior at Nantucket High School and is a member of the field hockey team.

Gabe Bamforth, King Open School (Cambridge)
Gabe Bamforth is a sixth grader at the King Open School in Cambridge. The 11-year old has eschewed sports like baseball, basketball and football because.....well....because there just aren't enough sword fights in those sports to tickle his fancy.
John Gregorek, Seekonk H.S.
Johnny Gregorek is a junior at Seekonk High School where he runs track: spring, winter and cross-country.
The 16-year old trains by running about 50 miles a week. His favorite event? That would be track's 'glamour' event.
Spencer Kelly, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional H.S.
Spencer Kelly is a sophomore at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional H.S.
The Dolphins don't have a team for the sport that Spencer plays and excels at. That's not a problem for the 16-year old. He'll just go to Florida.
Brittany Weddell, Bourne H.S.
Brittany Weddell is a member of the Bourne High School golf team. The 17-year old senior is not only the lone girl on the boy's team, she is the team captain.
She is also the standard-bearer of success for the Bourne team.

Sahil Bloom, Weston H.S.
Sahil Bloom  is a senior at Weston H.S. where he is a pitcher for the baseball team. Sahil went 13-1 in his first two years for Weston.

But Sahil thought that wasn't good enough.

Listen to WBZ's Sports Profile with WBZ sports reporter Tom Cuddy and Sahil Bloom of Weston H.S. this Saturday, September 6, at 9:55 a.m. and 6:55 p.m. and on Sunday, September 7, at 11:55 a.m.

The result? Net gains.
Brittany Folkins, North Quincy H.S.
Brittany Folkins is starting her senior year at North Quincy H.S. where she takes part in three sports: softball, basketball and soccer.
Brittany says her most difficult task isn't motivating her teammates on the field, it is motivating her friends at the mall.
Taylor Kinzler, Apponoquet Regional H.S.
Taylor Kinzler is a 16-year old at the Apponoquet Regional H.S. in Lakeville. But Apponoquet does not have a program in place for the sport that Taylor excels at.
What to do?

Samantha Smith, Canton H.S.
Samantha Smith will soon be a junior at Canton H.S. where she is a three sport athlete. Samantha took up track as a way to bridge the time between soccer and lacrosse.
Now, the 16-year old is discovering that the bridge will take her pretty much wherever she wants to go.
Colin O'Rourke, Saint John's, Shrewsbury
Colin O'Rourke is an incoming senior at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury where he is an all-league all-star in football and an all-league, all-star, All-American in lacrosse.
But one of Colins most memorable moments came with the Worcester Vikings Pop Warner football team when he suffered through his own dog day afternoon.
McKenzie Love, Hamilton-Wenham H.S.
It seems appropriate that someone named Love would play tennis and you can just imagine how many times McKenzie Love has heard that in the 14 years she has raised a racket.
The soon-to-be senior covers the court for Hamilton-Wenham and while people love her name and game, her foes usually hate the end result.
Meg Looney, Bishop Feehan H.S.
Meg Looney is a recent graduate of Bishop Feehan High School. Meg started her high school days playing basketball, soccer and lacrosse.
Then one day, she tried her hand, or feet, at track. It was then that her opponents got to see a lot of her back.
Ryan Zenevitch, St Peter Marian H.S.
Ryan Zenevitch is a recent graduate of St. Peter Marian H.S. in Worcester.
Ryan played defense for SPM. He did not walk softly and he carried a very big stick.

Listen to WBZ's Sports Profile with WBZ sports reporter Tom Cuddy this weekend on WBZ Newsradio 1030
Nate Davis, Algonquin Regional High School

Jon Leroux, Auburn High School
Jon Leroux will be heading into his senior year at Auburn High School once the summer is over. The 17-year old will once again be a three sport participant for Auburn.
Jon enjoys football and basketball but it is as a catcher for the baseball team that has scouts flocking to central Massachusetts to see this Bay State backstop.
Sabrina Salmela, Beverly High School
Sabrina Salmela is a tennis player at Beverly High School, which is akin to saying Jonathan Papelbon is a relief pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.
The 17-year old senior-to-be is the queen of her court. Just ask the opponents she has left in her dust.
Kylene Pease, Ashland High School
Kylene Pease plays softball for Ashland High School.  The 17-year old plays the hot corner for the greatest Division-2 girls' softball team in Massachusetts history.
Kylene and company went through the season unblemished, experiencing only the thrill of victory.
Liam Anastasia-Murphy, Gloucester High School
Liam Anastasia-Murphy is a graduating senior at Gloucester High School. Liam is a runner. Indoors, Outdoors, Cross-country - you name it, Liam runs it.
Liam has excelled in numerous disciplines, but his approach to racing is much like a ballplayer's approach to a season.
Erin Griffin, Briscoe Middle School
Erin Griffin is 14 years old and enjoys playing softball and skiing down mountains. In fact, the Brisco Middle Schooler is such a good skier that she teaches skiing at a nearby mountain.
Heady accomplishments and something her parents may not have expected when doctors informed them of the condition that, then, 10-month old Erin was afflicted with.
