Roxbury (AP/WBZ Newsroom) -- Boston police have released a 17-year-old boy questioned in connection with the shooting of a 4-year-old boy and his teenage cousin.
Police say there was not enough evidence to hold the teen, who was held after Monday night's shooting in Roxbury.
Family members say the victims were sitting on a porch when they were shot. Police say the younger child was struck in his side and the older boy was shot in the arm. They were taken to Boston Medical Center and their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police believe the older boy was the intended target.
The shooting marked the start of a violent night in Boston, where police also were investigating four other shootins and three stabbings. None was fatal.
