A common cause of spousal disharmony is poor communication. This frequently takes place on shopping trips to the mall.
After the spouses arrive, since they will be going in different directions, they make plans where to meet for lunch.
One spouse believes they are meeting at 2 o'clock in front of Macy’s while the other believes it’s one o’clock at the food court.
Why such differences of opinion? Perhaps one spouse did not listen, or pay attention, or forgot the final plan. Or, due to a denied hearing loss, did not even hear the plan.
When they finally meet, an argument ensues. Neither one admits he or she is wrong. How many times in these situations do you wish you tape-recorded your plan making session?
But, alas, no recordings are available.
So what you can do is learn to listen to each other, concentrate on what is being said, and before you go your different ways, review where you are going to meet. You may even want to write it down.
