Alan Segel

Alan Segel is a full-time staff announcer for WBZ NewsRadio 1030. He works as a sports anchor as well as handling reporting duties for both the sports and news departments. Segel also is the in-studio host for WBZ's broadcasts of the Boston Bruins. He has a part in the pre and post game shows as well as providing interviews and scoring updates between periods. He continues to be the back-up play-by-play announcer for those broadcasts.

Before joining WBZ NewsRadio in September of 1988, Segel worked at
WCVB-TV in Boston from 1977 through 1981 as a sports writer and producer. Prior to that he worked for WDLW Radio as a sports director, and then as the voice of Boston College Basketball, in addition to many other freelance assignments.

A native of Boston, Segel attended Boston Technical High School, and then Northeastern University. He currently lives in Natick, Massachusetts.
