Worcester (WBZ Newsroom)  -- Worcester's "Main South" neighborhood is honoring two police officers who almost lost their lives arresting a sexual assault suspect in December 2006. 

Clark University Officer Michael Palermo and Worcester Police Officer Patrick Harrington were dragged a quarter mile as Antoine Ayoub tried to flee. 

Both suffered severe injuries when the car crashed. In spite of those injuries, the officers made the arrest. 

Ayoub was convicted last month in Worcester Superior Court.
