Arrest made in fatal fire in Southie

Boston (WBZ Newsroom)  -- Boston Police make an arrest in the fatal South Boston fire that killed two young sisters in April.

Police Commissioner Ed Davis tells WBZ Newsradio 1030 that on Thursday, investigators uncovered some physical evidence that resulted in arrest warrants for 25-year old Nicole Chuminski who was arrested in Lowell.

Davis says she has been charged with murder.

He says the suspect had a relationship with the children's mother, but wouldn't elaborate.

The fire resulted in the deaths of 14-year old Acia Johnson and 2-year old Sophia Johnson.

Fire Investigators said the point of origin was outside the two and a half story single family townhouse at the first floor entrance.  More details are due to be released this afternoon.
