FedEx Driver Charged in Fatal Crash

Raynham (AP)  -- A FedEx truck driver faces charges in connection with a fatal accident in Raynham last month.

Police said the truck driven by 47-year-old Charles Desmarais of Norton crossed the median strip on Route 44 and collided with a car driven by 28-year-old Jennifer Desrosiers of Taunton.

Desrosiers was pronounced dead at the scene. Three children in her vehicle were injured in the crash.

Raynham Police chief Louis Pacheco says the truck driver will be summoned into court to face charges of motor vehicle homicide, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stay within marked lanes.

Pacheco says police filed the charges after examining the FedEX truck and determining that there were no problems with its braking system or any other mechanical failures.
