BOSTON, MA--Governor-elect Deval Patrick's transition team has scheduled community meetings in Boston and Amherst this Friday.
The goal is to hear input from members of the general public about their priorities for the incoming gubernatorial administration.
The Patrick transition team says the meetings are part of an effort to transform their successful grassroots campaign into grassroots government.
The Boston meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in the South End. The topic will be workforce development.
The Amherst meeting is slated for 10:30 a.m. at the U-Mass Campus Center, where the topic is higher education.
Patrick has formed 15 transition committee working groups to help shape the new administration's policy agenda on a range of issues as it prepares to take office on January fourth.
