Vince Carter led a 19-0 surge in the third quarter and finished with 20 points as the Orlando Magic beat Boston 96-89 on Sunday, moving ahead of the Celtics and into second place in the Eastern Conference.

BOSTON (AP) - Even without Paul Pierce, the Boston Celtics had too much for Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat.
Rajon Rondo had 22 points and 14 assists, Kevin Garnett had a season-high nine assists, and Tony Allen made a key steal in the final minute to help the Celtics beat the Heat 107-102 on Wednesday night.

BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Celtics say Paul Pierce has a sprained left foot and is listed as day-to-day.
Pierce was hurt Monday during the first quarter of the Celtics' 99-88 victory at Washington. He scored 12 points in 28 minutes before sitting out the final period.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Dealing with a three-game losing streak, and struggling against a troubled team, Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics turned to their defense to pull out a victory.
The Washington Wizards thought the Celtics got some extra help from the referees.

BOSTON (AP) - The Los Angeles Lakers are doing their best to forget all those awful memories of playing in the Boston Garden.
Kobe Bryant sank the go-ahead basket with 7.3 seconds left, and the Lakers won 90-89 on Sunday for their third consecutive victory over the struggling Celtics.
