Vancouver Canucks' Pavol Demitra, left, of Slovakia, celebrates his tying goal as Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask, of Finland, kneels on he ice during the third period of an NHL hockey game, Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, in Boston. The Canucks won 3-2 in a sh
Pavel Demitra tied the game on a tip-in with 4:42 left and scored the only goal of the shootout to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 win Saturday that sent the reeling Boston Bruins to their 10th straight loss.
As if a 10 game losing streak isn't enough. The Bruins are uncertain when they'll have Johnny Boychuk back. He was struck in the face with a puck in the first period of the Bruins' 3-2 shootout loss to Vancouver and taken to a local hospital.
The Boston Bruins got some good news regarding rookie defenseman Johnny Boychuk. He won't require surgery for a fractured orbital bone suffered in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to Vancouver.
Tuukka Rask made 36 saves for his third shutout, Marco Sturm scored twice and the Boston Bruins ended a 10-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday.
BOSTON (AP) - If Jaroslav Halak had his way, he wouldn't have to face 40 shots. But when it happens, the Montreal goalie is tough to beat.
Halak is 7-0 in games he's faced 40 shots or more this season, making 45 saves and three more in the shootout Thursday night to carry the Canadiens to a 3-2 victory over the free-falling Bruins, losers of nine straight.
New England Patriots News

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- The decade of the New England Patriots is over. The Baltimore Ravens began the new one with a stunning, start-to-finish beating of the three-time Super Bowl champions.
From Ray Rice's 83-yard touchdown run on the game's first offensive play to the sack of Tom Brady on the Patriots last, the underdog Ravens showed Sunday what they had known all along.
HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Texans finally got their first winning season with a victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The Patriots loss didn't hurt their playoff spot, but an injury to leading receiver Wes Welker could cost them as they prepare for the postseason.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - So much for all those accusing Randy Moss of quitting. Same thing for anyone wondering whether the New England Patriots are vulnerable this season. Moss had five catches and a touchdown as the Patriots won on the road, beating Buffalo 17 - 10.
The New England Patriots' road woes sent Tom Brady to his knees Sunday. When his final desperation pass was intercepted, he stooped over and buried his face in the turf, as if trying to hide.
There was no escaping the blown opportunities for Brady and the Patriots, who missed repeated chances to put the game away in the fourth quarter before the Miami Dolphins rallied for a 22-21 win.
Tom Brady rarely gets outplayed by the opposing quarterback. Rarely, though, is that quarterback as good as Drew Brees.
The New Orleans Saints' offensive leader had a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3 while Brady's was 55.0, his second lowest of the season, in Monday night's 38-17 win over the New England Patriots.
Boston Celtics News
Ray Allen scores 2 of his game high 26 to help the Celtics beat the Nets for their 3rd straight win.
Eddie House and a late defensive surge saved the Boston Celtics from a humbling loss. House scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter and the Celtics came from behind Friday for a 96-87 victory against the worst team in the NBA.
Vince Carter led a 19-0 surge in the third quarter and finished with 20 points as the Orlando Magic beat Boston 96-89 on Sunday, moving ahead of the Celtics and into second place in the Eastern Conference.
BOSTON (AP) - Even without Paul Pierce, the Boston Celtics had too much for Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat.
Rajon Rondo had 22 points and 14 assists, Kevin Garnett had a season-high nine assists, and Tony Allen made a key steal in the final minute to help the Celtics beat the Heat 107-102 on Wednesday night.
BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Celtics say Paul Pierce has a sprained left foot and is listed as day-to-day.
Pierce was hurt Monday during the first quarter of the Celtics' 99-88 victory at Washington. He scored 12 points in 28 minutes before sitting out the final period.
WASHINGTON (AP) - Dealing with a three-game losing streak, and struggling against a troubled team, Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics turned to their defense to pull out a victory.
The Washington Wizards thought the Celtics got some extra help from the referees.
