Durham, NH (AP) -- A new poll shows New Hampshire Governor John Lynch losing some of the broad support he's enjoyed for most of this time in office.
The Granite State Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center shows 63 percent of New Hampshire adults approve of how Lynch, a Democrat, is handling his job as governor. It's the first time Lynch's approval rating has fallen below 70 percent since July of 2005, six months into his first term.
The poll found that the governor's support has dropped largely among Republicans. Only 48 percent approve of the job he has done now compared to 62 percent in April.
The telephone poll of 558 adults was conducted June 24-July 1 and had a sampling margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
