Springfield (AP) -- Springfield police say a 28-year-old man has been shot to death. It's the city's 13th homicide of the year.
Police were called to Yale Street about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday where they found a man lying in the road with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. He was found next to his car, which was still running.
The victim, identified as Maurice Williams of Springfield, was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police say they have some leads, but have not made an arrest.
It was the second killing in the city in a week. Springfield saw 21 homicides last year, the most since 1994.
