Lowell (AP/WBZ Newsroom) -- Hundreds of people attended the funeral of Paul Sullivan in Lowell, remembering the popular WBZ radio talk show host who died earlier this week after a three-year battle with cancer.
Among the dozens of politicians who attended where Senator John Kerry, Governor Deval Patrick and former Congressman Martin Meehan, who knew Sullivan since the seventh grade.
Sullivan was known for his civility in the age of shock-jocks and his sharp wit. He also was a veteran columnist and political editor for The Sun in Lowell.
His son, Ryan, delivered the eulogy, saying his father cherished the label of class clown. He called his father a "hot ticket."
Sullivan underwent four brain surgeries and other treatments to stem the disease before entering hospice care late last month. He died Sunday.
