These are sad times for the Boston Bruins and their faithful.
As I was broadcasting from the WBZ Mobile Newsroom on Sunday prior to game three of this playoff series, I was dumb-struck by the number of Canadiens' fans who had made the trip to Boston and had tickets to game 3 at the Garden.
In fact, if I had closed my eyes and just listened to the fans outside the Garden I would have thought I was outside the Bell Centre in Montreal. That is how many and how loud the Canadiens' fans were.
Prior to the game.
The Bruins saw to it that they had nothing to cheer for at the conclusion of game three with a dramatic 2-1 overtime win to get them back in the series if only for another day.
No doubt, Bruins fans face the same obstacle in game four tonight: loud and proud Montreal fans.
Aubrey Victor "Dit" Clapper must be rolling in his grave.
