The Boston Bruins will begin the 2008-09 NHL season on the road with a four city excursion before gracing home ice at the T.D. Banknorth Garden.
The Bruins will begin the new campaign in Colorado on Thursday, October 9, at 10 p.m. ET. The B's and Avs last met in Boston on March 6, 2007 with the visitors skating off with a 2-0 win.
The opening road trip then continues on to Minnesota, Montreal, and Ottawa before the Causeway Street opener on Monday, October 20 at 7 p.m. ET against the defending Eastern Conference Champion Pittsburgh Penquins.
The Bruins will faceoff against each Northeast Division foe six times with four games against each of the remaining Eastern Conference opponents. They will see every Western Conference team at least once with the exception of Chicago, Minnesota, and St. Louis. The B's faceoff twice against each of those Western teams.
